Stuffed Bell Peppers

Serves 6 people Prep Time 20 minutes Cook Time 2 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Plainville Farms Ground Turkey
  • 1 cup long grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 6 bell peppers
  • 2 (8 oz) cans of tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Place the rice and water into a pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat – cover – and cook for 20 minutes.
  4. In a skillet – cook your Plainville Farms ground turkey over medium heat until browned. (Min 165°F)
  5. Cut off the tops of the bell peppers – clean out the seeds.
  6. Arrange the peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides faced up.
  7. In a bowl - combine the cooked rice, browned turkey, 1 can of tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, onion and garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  8. Fill each bell pepper to the top.
  9. In another bowl - mix the remaining tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Pour as a topping over the stuffed peppers.
  10. Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven – until the peppers are tender.
  11. Baste each pepper with sauce every 15 minutes to keep it moist.
